SORMAS Community App Installation Guide

To install and use the mobile version of the Discourse community platform for the SORMAS community, follow these step-by-step instructions:

1. Download the Mobile App:
   o Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your mobile device.
   o Search for “DiscourseHub” and download the app developed by Discourse.

2. Install DiscourseHub:
   o Once downloaded, open the DiscourseHub app on your mobile device.

3. Add SORMAS Community:
   o When you first open DiscourseHub, you’ll see an option to “Add your first site” or a plus (+) button.
   o Tap on it to add a new community.

4. Enter Community URL:
   o You’ll be prompted to enter the URL of the SORMAS community platform. Enter the URL: https://community.sormas.org

5. Authenticate (if required):
   o Depending on your setup of the SORMAS community, you might need to authenticate your account. Follow any on-screen instructions to log in using your credentials.

6. Complete Setup:
   o Once authenticated, DiscourseHub will verify the SORMAS community and add it to your app. You should now see the SORMAS community listed in your DiscourseHub app.

7. Navigate the Interface:
   o Open DiscourseHub and select the SORMAS community from your list of communities.
   o You’ll see a familiar interface like the desktop version of Discourse.

8. Browse Categories and Topics:
   o Tap on categories to browse different topics or discussions within the community.
   o Tap on topics to read posts and replies.

9. Interact with Posts:
   o To reply to a post, tap on the reply button at the bottom of the post.
   o You can like posts by tapping the heart icon and share them using the share icon.

10. Search for Content:
    o Use the search function within the app to find specific topics or posts.

11. Receive Notifications:
    o DiscourseHub supports push notifications. Ensure notifications are enabled in your device settings to receive updates on new posts, replies, and mentions.

12. Adjust Settings:
    o Tap on your profile icon within DiscourseHub to access settings.
    o Here, you can adjust notification settings, view your activity, and change any preferences related to how you interact with the community.

13. Logout (if necessary):
    o If you need to log out of the SORMAS community or switch to another community, you can do so from the settings menu.
